I am giving lessons to both children and adults. I have students who have chosen a harp as their future
career
and at the same time there are some who do lessons for fun as a hobby but still value the quality and
proficiency.
You are getting energy from the hobby the same way as from profession, so both this resources must be
valued
equally. I believe that learning in general is the most important thing for long and happy life.
That’s why I welcome not only kids who are planning to make a harp their future profession, but also
adults who
want to explore something new and fascinating. Whatever is the student’s goal I see it as my
responsibility
to help it come true.
I was nurtured on the Russian traditional music and inherit harp performing school of the great harpists
as Slepushkin,
Zabel, Erdeli, Dulova and naturally pass this art on. I am happy to see my students’ success and maturity
as
I understand that the tradition of performing is continuing and growing with the next generations.
Free Sample lesson
If you just doubting and don’t know should you go on and try it or not, I offer a free sample lesson,
you will have everything
you would get as if it was a “real” lesson.
We will talk, discuss your expectations, your interests and goals and for sure you will try out the
instrument
and hear me playing!
How does it work
Students have a 1 hour lesson per week (sometimes it can be 2 times a week based on students requests).
It is highly recommended
that students practice by themselves in between the lessons (it is recommended for hobby use and
compulsory
for professional use) basically student got the task during the lesson and then work on it during their
own
practice.
As harp is a string instrument regular practicing prevents blisters on the fingers, which appear if
practicing
is not stable and from time to time. That’s why it is highly recommended to possess or rent an
instrument
at home.
If the student is below 7-8 years old we usually start with a smaller lever harp as it is easier to
make the
best posture and finger techniques according to a child size.
(When I was studying as a kid myself though my family couldn’t afford to have my own harp, so I was to
come
to the music school for practicing almost every day, it was allowed by school because many families were
in the same situation)
